Betty was a most gentle and loving person. She adored her family and had fought her failing health for as long as she could, in order to stay with them a little longer. Betty was Mother to Rose, and her Husband Geoff, Grandmother to Diane and Mandy, and their Husbands Phil and Colin, and Great-Grandmother to Neil and Shaun. She was so proud of each and every one of them, and she loved them with all her heart. Since she passed away just a year ago we have missed her laughter so much, and her loving ability to listen to the stories of our daily lives with such avid interest. She never had a bad word to say about anyone ,and always saw the good in everyone she knew. Betty is now back in the protective arms of her beloved Husband Eric, and her son Brian.
Even though Betty is no longer with us she will always live on in our hearts, and in the many happy memories that we share with each other.
We all miss her so much, but we know she is only a whisper way. With all our love, now and forever from
Rose,Geoff,Di,Phil,Mandy,Colin,Neil & Shaun XXXXXXXX
2 Years Since we lost you.
Darling Nan, it was two years ago tomorrow ( Nov 24th) that you lost your long fight agaisnst ill health, and left us quietly and peacefully with the dignity that you had maintained throughout your illness.
The loss of your unconditional love for us all is still raw and painful even now, and we miss you so much.
We miss your gentle smile, encouraging words, and your loving ability to always have the time to listen to our troubles and woes, along with our successes and failures. We know you fought so hard to stay with us and for that Nan we will always be grateful and love you very much.
Dad has been rough this year and he's had a tough time, He accidently chopped part of is finger off, and he had numerous infections, at the same time as other health problems which caused him much distress. Thankfully after five months he is making progress now.
Mum is well, and having met Chris a year ago, is a much more outgoing and confident person. You would like Chris Nan, Mum thinks of her as a sister and I'm sure you would have loved her had you known her.
Phil is fine, home form U.S.A. until afHer Christmas thank goodness. He is busy preparing our fire place for a new log wood burning stove. You would be very impressed.
I'm going to have my Gall Bladder removed on Tuesday, so please watch over me Nan, and keep me safe until I'm able to come home again.
Neil and A.J. are engaged and both seem very happy and contented. Neil seems to have found his soul mate. He is working very hard but at least he doesn't have to travel so far now he is working back in Worle.
Shaun is fine, but sadly his romance with Chloe has ended. It was a painful breakup for them both, and then tragically only a few months later Chloe earned her Angel wings just as you did. Since then he has thrown himself into work, doing as much overtime as he can, and spending time with his best mates Gervais and Darrell.
You would be so proud of both of your Great-Grandsons Nan, for they are growing into delightful, respectful, thoughtful and polite young men.
We will all be thinking of you tomorrow, as we do every day, with love and smiles, but also great sadness, even though we know you are only a whisper away, all our love Di, Phil,Neil, Shaun and A.J. XXXXX
Your 90th Birthday 22nd July 2009
To our Darling Nan, Today is your 90th birthday, a time when all the family would have celebrated in great style. Instead we find ourselves missing you even more on this your special day. Last night as we wrote our cards in readiness for going to see you in the Garden of Rememberance we were recalling all the love, happiness, humour and comfort that you gave to us all so willingly. We laughed together as we recalled all the laughter that you shared with us on a daily basis, like the day you were using a mobility scooter in Asda and you crashed into the conveyor belt and till, nearly running one of their employees over at the same time. We weren't much help were we as we were all doubled over laughing at the time.
You were a very special lady who touched all of our hearts every day of our lives Nan, and we all miss you so much.
Phil is still in the U.S.A. working for another month at a time in Ohio, Neil is working hard and is very happy in the Annex,he and A.J. are so happy together and are talking about getting engaged. They are off to Munich in a couple of weeks to see A.J.'s Dad, who lives there. Shaun very sadly has ended his romance with Chloe. It has been messy and painful for both of them and he could really have done with your wisdom and unconditional love during the past couple of months. He has taken up weight training to fill his time, but yesterday was injured doing it and so is off work for a few days, and in need of some T.L.C.
You would have gone into a real flap three weeks ago when Dad accidently chopped the end of his finger of with a circular saw in his shed. It would have been one of those occasions when you jumped up and down, and made a bigger fuss than the casualty! which would have undoubtedly have made us all double over in peels of laughter again! he's making steady progress now and has just started physio today. Dad is also buying a mobility scooter which was why we were all recalling your exploits in Asda, and hoping that he won't need his "L" plates like you did. Mum has had a really bad leg, just like you used to get , after being hit in the back of her leg by a plastic bucket that Polly our Boxer dog was wearing because she had had an operation on her eye. You would be so proud of Mum as she has lost nearly 2 stone in weight buy joining Slimming World last September. She has met some really special ladies there who are now her best
friends.
With all this going on Mum and Dad have been staying with me for a couple of weeks until they are both back on their feet, and able to look after themselves, just like when you used to come and stay when Mum and Dad went on their holidays.
We really have missed you today Nan, but we always carry you in our hearts, and our memories keep you with us every day.
we love you now and always and We know you are only a whisper away,
All our love from your loving Grand-Daughter Di, Phil, Great-Grandsons Neil and Shaun, A.J., Son-in-Law Geoff and you ever loving Daughter Rose X X X X X X X
Mother's Day wishes to Nan
To our wonderful Nan, today we are all thinking about you and wishing were still here to share Mother's Day with us. We miss you so much and every day we remember you and it always brings a smile to our faces. You always saw the best in everyone and every situaton, and we try to do the same. The boys are fine. Neil is happy relaxed and stress free since being transfered back to Worle. He can walk to work now and be home in under ten minutes, instead of the one and a half hours that it used to take. He and A.J. are very much an item, and it saddens me that you never got to see how happy they make each other. Shaun is getting more and more excited as the family holiday approaches. He is driving down to Cornwall with his best mate Gervais. I just hope he will be ok and that he appreciates the trust we are putting in him! When we come back it will be his 21st birthday. Phil was supposed to be in USA working for five weeks but was back after ten days. We managed to surprise Mum, just like the time when Phil arrivd at your annex and surprised both Mum and You, as I was the only person who knew he was returning home. I'm fine, slimming world has not only helped me to lose nearly two and a half stone, but has given me the special gift of friendship to some very special ladies. You would have liked them all. Shaun visited you today at the Crem, but Mum and I thought it was much more personal to leave a message each for you here. Every one of us misses you so much Nan, especially on day's like today. But we know you are only a whisper away, with all our love on Mother's Day, from Di, Phil, Neil, Shaun and A.J. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Thinking of you on Mothers Day
Dearest Mum,it's days like today when I miss you more than ever. Every day in some way I remember you, it might be your smile, or your laughter, or something that you might say. You always saw the funny side of life, and so we always think of you being happy. Neil and AJ are happy together. You would have loved to see them so in love. Neil is still living in the annex and has made it into his home. He has just returned to Homebase Worle, and can now walk to work in a few minutes, instead of the long journey to and from Bath. Much less stress and worry! Shaun is working hard and is looking forward to his holiday with Gervais for two weeks in Cornwall. Di and Phil are planning another trip to USA, and are looking forward to celebrating thie joint birthdays at the end of the month. Geoff has almost recovered from his health problems at Christmas, and now the better weather has arrived has started going down to the workshop to do some woodturning. I have some very special friends now since joining slimming world. You would be so proud of me for losing so much weight. We have lunch every other week and coffee morning on the alternate week. It has given me a new leese of life, and a new interest. We have not been to dancing since before Christmas. Geoff had such problems with his balance that it wasn't safe to try to dance. It's funny but I don't miss it at all. My new friends have taken it's place, and I enjoy their company immencely.I miss you so much but we are all beginning to find our way on in life, but today you are in my thoughts and very much in my heart. All my love Rose, Geoff and family XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

Hi Nan, at Christmas
Hi Nan, Christmas has come around so quickly this year. It doesn't seem five minutes ago that you were here with us still, and yet it was 13 months ago just yesterday that you left us. We still feel such a huge sense of loss, and at times like birthday's, anniversary's and Christmas those feelings of great sadness are much worse. We still miss your smile, and your special ability to listen to the every day stories of our lives with such avid interest. I am O.K., and Phil is alright except for a dodgy back. The boys are fine as well. We have moved to Mum's for Christmas, and to help look after them as both have been very poorly. Neil and A.J. are coming for Christmas lunch, and Shaun is here as well. He is going to visit you at the Cremortorium tomorrow. We will all be thinking of you tomorrow, especially as we open each others gifts. Although we miss you so much we know you are only a whisper away. Rest well Nan for you will always be in our hearts and thoughts. With all our love at Christmas time, from Di, Phil, Neil, Shaun and A.J. X X X X X 2008
Hello Mum, at Christmas
To our Dearest Mum, at this time of year we feel a greater sense of loss and sadness than at any other time Mum. As we begin to celebrate Christmas as a family it just doesn't feel right that you a not here to share it with us. Both Geoff and I have been poorly, but Di, Phil, and Shaun moved in yesterday so they are helping to carry the load. Neil and A.J. are coming to us for Christmas lunch, but I don't expect them very early, despite Neil offering to cook lunch. I think it would be ready about tea time if he did! so Di and I will cook Christmas lunch between us. We prepared all the veg this afternoon, and we missed you so much then because you always used to help by using the tray on your lap. There will be a very special place in our hearts for you tomorrow and we will think of you as we open our presents. Give Dad and Brian, and Uncle Tom a big hug and kiss from us all, and remember we just wanted to say: we miss you so much, but know you are only a whisper away. All our love from Rose and Geoff XX Christmas Eve 2008
